Meet the Team
Michael Speranza, Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Michael Speranza oversees all aspects of Avolin’s operations. He works closely with his leadership team to define mission and strategies, drive product innovation and champion customer success. He spends time with customers and partners to understand their needs and ensure Avolin solutions align to meet their objectives.
Prior to Avolin, Michael served as the SVP/General Manager of the Vertical Business Applications group within Aptean, which subsequently became Avolin. He was previously the SVP/Managing Director at IPC Systems, a global software and services provider where he oversaw successive years of organic and inorganic growth and two successful exits.
Michael has over 20 years of experience in the B2B technology sector. He is a creative, strategic visionary who has led start-up and private equity companies through growth and transition into alternative business lines. Early in his career, Michael worked at the Jet Propulsion Lab and has worked on two successful missions to Mars, including the first Mars’ rover, Sojourner.
Tera Ricker, Chief of Staff and Operations
Tera Ricker is the Chief of Staff and Operations for Avolin, working to ensure the business strategy and financial performance is aligned with the human capital strategy. She also guides the various operations teams to support their key initiatives to drive the execution required for success. Tera is passionate about transformation, change management and continuous improvement. She has spent her three-decade career acquiring knowledge and expertise in various functions such as program management, quality and process design, IT leadership, HR leadership, acquisition integration, and strategy execution.
In her spare time, Tera enjoys the sounds of a great eclectic playlist, keeping her kids on track to achieve their expected greatness and trying to catch a few brief moments of peace and quiet with her husband.
Brad Steger, Chief Product Officer
As Chief Product Officer, Brad Steger is responsible for driving the strategies for solutions in the Avolin portfolio. He leads the team of product managers and works alongside leaders in Research and Development, Sales, Customer Success and Marketing to formulate roadmaps, revenue objectives and go-to-market approaches. Brad has almost 30 years of corporate level project and program experience, most recently responsible for Strategic Business Development activities with Aptean, focused on expanding relationships with existing partners and customers, identifying new partnerships and building company expansion opportunities.
Brad has a passion for birding, with over 1200 species on his life list. When he travels, he keeps an eye out for new birds to add to his list, which includes the near-threatened Kirtland’s warbler and the endangered whooping crane.
Simon Gilford, Vice President of Marketing
Simon Gilford is Vice President of Marketing at Avolin, with responsibility for marketing programs, brand management and corporate communications. He has 30 years’ experience, having held international senior management positions in marketing communications and field marketing at a number of IT & Telecoms organizations. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Global Marketing at Aptean, where he directed major customer, prospect and partner marketing initiatives.
Away from work, Simon is a keen Nordic Walker and loves nothing more than exploring the beautiful countryside around his rural home, walking poles in hand.
Peush Upadhya, Vice President of Customer Success
As Vice President of Customer Success at Avolin, Peush Upadhya takes a cross-functional and collaborative approach to lead customers to success. He is driven by a mindset of continuous improvement, assisting customers maximize the potential of their solutions to obtain even greater value in their investments and reach their business goals. Peush has over 15 years’ experience working with customers and delivering projects in Professional Services and Customer Support.
Peush has never lived in a city more than five years. He has moved across India and the Middle East, from coast to coast in the United States, and spent two years in London. In addition to the opportunity to gain a more in-depth experience of each area’s unique personality, he believes that change provides interesting challenges and facilitates a new perspective.
Trivikram Pasad, Vice President of Engineering
Trivikram Prasad is Vice President of Engineering at Avolin, managing the end-to-end research and development, engineering and delivery of the solutions within the portfolio. He is also the head of the Center of Excellence in Bangalore, India, which includes oversight of Engineering, Professional Services and local IT teams. Triv has 25 years’ experience building and leading software teams in companies like Intel, Intuit and Dell in India and the US. He also co-founded a mobile gaming startup and actively consults multiple start-ups on technology and roadmap strategy.
Triv is passionate about giving back to the next generation of adults and teaches classes on Design Thinking, R/Python Programming and Operations Research for the MBA class in Christ University Bangalore. He is also an avid writer of short fiction, and a self-confessed foodie.
Eric Valentin, Vice President of North American Sales
As Vice President of North American Sales for Avolin, Eric Valentin works alongside product management to develop go-to-market strategies, leads the account management team focused on direct sales and manages activities for the North American partner channel. He is passionate about developing long-term relationships with his customers to deliver the full value of their technology solutions. Eric has almost thirty years of experience in CRM and front office technology in a wide range of roles including customer support, product development and implementation, and he leverages that background as he works to ensure the success of his customers and partners.
Eric and his family live on one of Minnesota’s ten thousand lakes. The Valentin’s are very active and enjoy spending time outdoors and on the water, hiking, boating and fishing.
Stuart Held, Vice President of International Sales
Stuart Held is Vice President of International Sales at Avolin. He collaborates with Customer Success and Product Management to build programs to support sustainable sales growth, customer retention, channel partner loyalty and new customer acquisition. Stuart has over 20 years’ experience working with cross-functional teams, and leverages his knowledge of the entire customer journey to ensure customer success and increase organic growth within an organization. He believes in developing deep relationships with customers, understanding what they do that brings value to peoples’ lives and ensuring they receive value from their software solutions.
In his younger years, Stuart enjoyed early success as an actor, appearing in a few television shows. As a member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, he did a two-night show with Sir Ian McKellen. While his days of treading the boards are behind him, he remains an avid theater goer and movie buff.
